I enjoy the challenge of building and landscape design and have built two art studios. Each harmoniously interacts with the landscape while serving as a fully functional studio.
A modern building designed for efficiency of cost and materials. Sixteen by twenty foot studio building with 10 foot ceilings for an airy and functional workspace accommodating large projects. Custom windows inspired by a horse barn to prioritize privacy. Also custom made ship’s ladder and garage door.
Forty by forty two foot sculptor’s studio designed to nestle in the landscape. Ten pitch roof designed to match existing buildings and provide solar energy applications. Polished concrete radiant heat floor extends to create indoor / outdoor work space. Large studio space for industrial wood, metal, glass, casting and ceramic processes.
Interior Cat Door. Designing for all users, the custom miniature molding plays with scale in a humorous way, matching existing trim in the house. Meeting client’s desire to demarcate human and animal spaces.
